SD8

The SD8 puts eight mic/line inputs and eight balanced XLR outputs on the stage, and sends them to a front-of-house console over one shielded CAT5e cable. Preamp gain, +48 V phantom power and routing are set from the console, so the unit can be placed where it is needed and left alone. Two of the programmable inputs also accept Hi-Z sources such as keyboards, acoustic guitars and bass guitars without a DI box.

The outputs are servo-balanced XLR connections for amp racks, active loudspeakers and monitors, driven by 24-bit Cirrus Logic converters. Rugged protective bumpers are fitted for use on stage. In an X32 system, up to six SD8 units can be cascaded through the built-in AES50 ports, giving up to 48 inputs and 48 outputs.

An onboard ULTRANET hub carries 16 channels of digital audio and supplies power over CAT5e to two Behringer POWERPLAY P16-M personal monitor mixers per SD8, with no extra hardware. A USB port is provided for system updates from a computer.
