The SX120 is an active subwoofer built around a single 8-inch (203mm) long-throw woofer driven by an internal 70W amplifier. It covers 34Hz to 150Hz and is meant to extend the bass of a home cinema or hi-fi setup built on Cambridge Audio's SX range or other speakers.
A continuously variable active crossover from 50Hz to 150Hz lets the sub be matched to the main speakers. Full output is reached with a 180mV input signal, and maximum power consumption is 100W. The cabinet is a compact 300 x 300 x 310mm cube in matte black and weighs 7.7kg, so it fits into smaller rooms or secondary systems.
