The Statement Phono is a phono preamplifier built in two chassis: a preamp unit and an external power supply. It provides switchable MM and MC operation with gain of +34 dB for MM and +54 dB for MC at 1 kHz. MC input impedance ranges from 25 Ω to 10 kΩ, MM input impedance is 47 kΩ. A subsonic filter can be switched in, and the RIAA curve is held to ±0.05 dB from 20 to 100 kHz.
The circuit uses silver-mica capacitors, low-noise resistors and selected capacitors. Equalisation can be adjusted freely, with two passive filters covering 75 μs, 318 μs and 3180 μs time constants. Power comes from a fully balanced battery supply, which keeps mains interference away from the signal path.
There are two phono inputs (one balanced XLR, one unbalanced RCA) and two line inputs (one XLR, one RCA), plus a 3.5 mm AUX jack on the front. Outputs are RCA, XLR and a 6.3 mm headphone jack. Volume control is built in, so the unit can serve as a control hub for several sources. Both chassis are made of aluminium.
