Game Capture 4K S is an external capture card that takes an HDMI signal from a console, PC, Mac, handheld or phone and sends it to a computer or iPad over USB-C as a UVC device. The signal also passes through to a TV, monitor or projector without added lag, with variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode signals carried through. Passthrough runs up to 4K60 with HDR10, and up to 1080p240.
Capture runs up to 4K60 in SDR. HDR10 capture is available on Windows at up to 1080p60, while on Mac and iPad HDR is tone mapped to SDR automatically. A 3.5 mm analog line input allows voice chat to be added with accessories such as Chat Link Pro, since party chat is not carried over HDMI.
Recording is handled by the free Elgato Studio software, without watermarks or time limits. Streaming works with OBS Studio, Streamlabs, vMix, Meld, Discord and similar apps. On iPad the free Elgato Capture app records to the Photo Library or external storage. It can also be used in a dual-PC streaming setup.
