The JCM800 2203 is a single-channel, 100W all-valve guitar head. A master volume lets the player reach power-valve saturation at lower volume levels, and the preamp and master controls can be balanced for clean through crunch settings.
The front panel offers preamp volume, master volume, treble, middle, bass and presence controls. There are two 1/4" instrument inputs, one high sensitivity and one low. The valve complement is three ECC83 in the preamp section (including the phase splitter) and four EL34 in the power section. This reissue adds a switchable series effects loop, placed between the preamp and power amp so that effects sit after the preamp gain stage.
On the back, two 1/4" jack speaker outputs have a selectable 16Ω, 8Ω or 4Ω load. The head is finished in black and gold, weighs 20.5 kg and is made in the UK. A detachable power cable and a speaker cable are included.
