The MC Vertex is a moving-coil cartridge built around a newly developed Vertex diamond stylus. The stylus combines a 4 μm scanning radius with a 110 μm contact radius, which spreads contact force over a larger area of the groove wall. It is mounted in a solid diamond cantilever that is laser-cut at the interface and laser-polished.
The body and internal core are made from titanium using selective laser melting, with an intentional internal cavity for damping and a black DLC finish. Logos are laser-engraved into the titanium. Resonance is controlled by an updated Wide Range Damping system, in which a platinum disc sits between two in-house rubber compounds.
The generator uses a non-magnetic armature, precision-wound high-purity silver coils and an optimised magnet configuration. Output is 0.3 mV at 1 kHz, with 30 dB channel separation. The cartridge uses a half-inch mount, and the recommended tracking force is 2.5 grams.
