The DDJ-FLX6 is a four-channel controller laid out like a club-style CDJ and DJM setup. It has full-size jog wheels, the same size as those on the CDJ-3000, each with an On Jog Display that shows the playhead position. Eight back-lit rubber performance pads trigger Hot Cues, Pad FX, Beat Jump and the sampler.
Merge FX is a one-knob transition tool: choose one of four presets, press the knob to start building tension, turn it to raise the effect, then press again to release it. Presets can be customised in rekordbox on PC/Mac, with 41 effect types per element and more than 9,000 possible patterns. Jog Cutter applies one-handed scratch patterns to the last Hot Cue or playback position, and Sample Scratch in rekordbox lets you scratch sampler sounds on the decks.
The unit is powered over a single USB cable to a computer, which also carries audio to the built-in sound card and lets you record in rekordbox. It is class compliant, so no audio driver is needed. The Serato Pitch 'n Time DJ Expansion Pack and the Serato FX Pack are included.
