The MIDI Marshmellow connects USB class-compliant controllers to MIDI hardware. A USB device plugs into the USB-C host port, a MIDI cable runs to the synth, and the unit is powered with 5 V from any USB-C source such as a charger or power bank. No drivers or configuration are needed.
Two glowing cheeks work as status lights. Both stay lit steadily when a USB device is connected, and they briefly dip dark with each MIDI message. The left cheek shows MIDI In and the right cheek shows MIDI Out. With no device connected, the lights pulse slowly while the unit waits.
Firmware updates are done by drag and drop, with only a MIDI cable required and no need to open the case. The unit is designed and built in small batches in Berlin by Pinkcloud Engineering. The USB-C cable is not supplied.
