MB2S

The MB2S is a large passive three-way monitor aimed at mid-sized control rooms. It pairs a 310mm Radial low-frequency driver with a 75mm fabric dome mid-range unit and a 27mm fabric soft-dome tweeter. The bass driver has a cast alloy frame and a rear-vented magnet, which are intended to keep power compression down at high excursion and allow higher levels without losing definition.

The cabinet uses Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading with an effective line length of 3m (10ft), rather than a ported or sealed enclosure. Crossover points are 380Hz and 3.8kHz, and the stated frequency response is 20Hz to 25kHz. It is designed for soffit mounting or for use on custom studio stands.

Connection is through three pairs of 4mm sockets, allowing tri-wire or tri-amp operation. Recommended amplifier power is 200-800W into a nominal 8 ohm load. A matching low-profile centre channel (MB2S-C) and XB2S subwoofers are available for surround setups. A 20 year warranty is offered when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
