The MaiA DS3 is a stereo integrated amplifier built into a machined full-aluminium case. It delivers 2x 80 W into 8 ohms and 2x 140 W into 4 ohms at 1% THD, and it also has a headphone output. The design combines analogue and digital inputs in one unit, with the electronics screened by the metal housing.
Inputs cover three RCA line pairs and a phono stage for MM, MI and MC cartridges. The digital section has a coaxial input, two optical inputs and a USB Audio Class 2 input handling PCM up to 192 kHz / 24 bit and DSD up to DSD256. Wireless playback uses Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX and aptX HD.
A variable RCA output can feed a subwoofer or a second power amplifier, while a fixed-level output sends an unaffected signal to a device such as a recorder. A 12 V trigger in/out is provided. The amplifier runs from an external 36 V power supply and draws under 0.5 W on standby. It is available in silver or black and comes with a remote control.
