Nuance Select

The Nuance Select is a monitor controller for a recording or mixing room. It selects between two pairs of powered speakers and a full-range subwoofer output that can be enabled with either pair. Two stereo sources can be compared, which is useful for checking reference tracks or auditioning a cue mix.

Two headphone amplifiers are built in, each with its own source assignment, so the engineer can listen to the main mix while an artist receives a separate cue mix. A rear stereo Aux output can feed an additional headphone amplifier for live room tracking, switched on or off from a local control and assignable to either source. The subwoofer output carries a full-range signal, so it can also drive a single mono speaker as an extra reference when the A and B pairs are turned off.

The signal path uses a circuit designed for very low distortion and minimal coloration. The unit has a steel enclosure with a milled aluminum faceplate, backlit selector switches and large chrome knobs for master and headphone levels. Speaker outputs are balanced TRS, and headphone jacks are on the front panel.
