Phazer

The Phazer is a 100% analog phase alignment tool built around a Class-A audio circuit. It is used to bring two sound sources, for example two mics on the same instrument or a mic and a direct feed, into step so that their fundamental frequencies reinforce each other instead of partly cancelling.

A variable phase control lets the user rotate the phase of one signal until it lines up with the other. A low-pass filter restricts the effect to the lower part of the spectrum, so the correction can be focused where it matters. Typical uses include combining batter-head and resonant-head mics on a kick drum, blending a direct box feed with a miked guitar amp, and aligning a bass amp's direct feed with the PA to tidy up low end in small venues.

It is designed to be inserted on a channel, for example on the batter-head channel of a kick drum. The unit is no longer manufactured or shipped; the maker still provides a user guide, a smart sheet and photos for existing owners.
