The HD 559 is an open-back, around-ear wired headphone positioned for home listening, such as music, film and TV. It belongs to the HD 500 series and is described as a general-purpose option that balances overall performance with build quality.
The headphone uses a detachable-cable design within the HD 500 family. Compatible cables include a 1.2 m version with or without a microphone, a 1.8 m cable with a 3.5 mm jack, a 3 m cable with a 6.3 mm plug, and a 4.4 mm balanced cable. A 6.35 mm to 3.5 mm jack adapter and a boom arm microphone for the HD 500 series are also listed.
