DA-45HR

The DA-45HR is a 3U rack-mountable DAT recorder that extends the DA-40 feature set to 24-bit recording. In High Resolution mode it writes 24-bit stereo audio to standard DAT tape. It also records and plays the standard 16-bit DAT format, so it can replace an ordinary 16-bit machine and play tapes made on other DAT decks. Conversion is 24-bit A/D and 20-bit D/A.

Operating features include two locate points, single play (play one track and pause), loop play between the locate points, a record mute function, a margin counter with reset, and track names stored in DAT subcodes. A large jog shuttle wheel handles transport. SCMS status is selectable, and a calibrated input switch and output attenuation on the XLR outputs help with level matching.

Analog connections are balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA. Digital connections are AES/EBU and coaxial S/PDIF. Word clock In and Thru let the unit follow an external clock source on playback in larger digital setups. A parallel control port and serial control input are fitted, and an optional RC-D45 wired remote is available. A headphone output with level control is provided. The model is discontinued.
