FireOne
The FireOne is a discontinued FireWire audio interface with two mic inputs, two outputs, MIDI and a weighted, backlit jog wheel. It suits home-studio users who want 96kHz/24-bit recording plus transport and shortcut keys for controlling a DAW.

The FireOne is a 2-in/2-out FireWire interface that records and plays back at up to 96kHz/24-bit. It has two XLR mic inputs with phantom power and pad switches, plus a front-panel 1/4" high-impedance input for plugging in a guitar or bass directly. Two 1/4" stereo headphone outputs, a stereo LED meter, MIDI in and out and a footswitch input are also fitted.
The main distinguishing feature is a large, weighted jog wheel with a backlight. The light gives visual feedback, including a visual metronome. Transport keys (rewind, fast-forward, stop, play, record) and eight DAW shortcut keys sit alongside it. The unit works as a control surface for Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, SONAR, Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro and Digital Performer.
It connects over FireWire and can be bus-powered from that connection or run from the included power supply. Ableton Live Lite 6 TASCAM Edition is bundled for multitrack recording. Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X drivers or control panel software are listed for it.
