MD-350

The MD-350 is a 2U rack-mount MiniDisc recorder using ATRAC version 3 encoding. Long-play modes extend recording time on a standard 80-minute disc to as much as 320 minutes, and the unit also offers 74-minute stereo and 148-minute mono record modes. Editing includes full TOC editing for changing track order, plus program and shuffle play and a timer play function.

For live and on-air use it provides Auto Cue, which positions the machine at the first audio in a track instead of at the track ID, and Auto Ready, which pauses at each track ID so the next cue is set up automatically. A pitch control function has its own on/off switch on the front panel.

Connections include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog inputs and outputs and S/PDIF optical I/O. A front-panel optical input allows portable players to be connected digitally, and a front-panel PS/2 keyboard port is used for naming tracks and controlling the editing of the disc's table of contents. A headphone output with level control is fitted, and the RC-32 wireless remote is supplied.
