The N22 (Gen 2) is a small stereo amplifier built for desktop and mini hi-fi use. It powers passive speakers rated at 4, 6 or 8 ohms, and has a built-in headphone amplifier and DAC for private listening. Plugging in headphones bypasses the speaker output, so sound plays through the headphones only.
Sources connect through Bluetooth aptX, USB-C from a computer, tablet or phone, a stereo mini-jack, or stereo RCA inputs. A full-range stereo RCA line output allows a subwoofer or other gear to be added. Power is rated at 22W RMS per channel at 4 ohms, with a 100W per channel peak figure at the same load.
The amplifier has an internal power supply that reduces cable clutter, a hand-crafted real wood cabinet and an integrated stand. It uses an external switching power supply with a detachable power cable, so it adapts to different mains voltages, and it enters a power-saving idle mode after playback stops.
