The Hi-X50 is a foldable closed-back, on-ear headphone built around a 44 mm driver with a ring magnet system and a copper-clad aluminum voice coil. The low-mass, stiff membrane is intended to give fast impulse response and a controlled low end, and the closed design limits sound leakage during playback and recording.
The construction uses an all-metal hinge and bow, with slow-retention memory foam pads on both the ear cups and the headband. The on-ear fit makes it easy to move the headphones off and on when switching between the music and the people around you. The design is fully serviceable, and replacement ear cushions and cables are available as accessories.
The headphones use a detachable 3 m cable with a 3.5 mm (1/8") connector, and a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm (1/8" to 1/4") adapter is supplied. Shorter 1.2 m and 3 m replacement cables are sold separately.
