The QX1204USB is a small-format mixer that combines four XENYX mic preamps with a 12-input, 2/2-bus layout. Mono channels each carry a single-knob compressor, and the channel EQ is modelled on British console circuitry from the 1960s and 70s.
A 24-bit Klark Teknik effects engine with an LCD display supplies 100 presets, including reverb, chorus, flanger, delay and pitch shift. It offers dual parameters, a tap function and storable user settings. The preamps are specified with 130 dB of dynamic range and a bandwidth from below 10 Hz to above 200 kHz.
For recording, the mixer has a built-in bi-directional stereo USB audio interface. A single USB cable links it to a PC or Mac, so any source plugged into the mixer can be captured to a hard drive. Recording and editing software for turning the computer into a home studio is supplied with it. The product title also lists a wireless option.
