Osmo Action 3 is a waterproof action camera built around a 1/1.7-inch sensor. It records 4K video at up to 120fps with a 155° super-wide field of view. A 10-bit colour mode, 4K HDR and a colour temperature sensor for white balance help with demanding light. RockSteady 3.0 electronic stabilisation and HorizonSteady keep footage steady and level, including through 360° rotation.
The body is rated to 16 m underwater without extra housing and is designed to keep recording in temperatures down to -20° C. Front and rear touchscreens use Gorilla Glass with a hydrophobic coating. A magnetic quick-release mount with a positioning clip lets the camera be moved between mounts. With the optional horizontal-vertical protective frame it can switch to vertical shooting. The battery supports fast charging, reaching 80% in about 18 minutes with the DJI 30W USB-C charger.
Audio is stereo, with a hidden wind-suppressing microphone at the bottom. The camera works with the DJI Mic wireless system and other external mics through a Type-C to 3.5mm cable, and can act as a webcam. It pairs with the DJI Mimo app for activation, editing, Wi-Fi livestreaming and the InvisiStick effect for skiing, and with the LightCut editor. Voice prompts, voice control (English and Mandarin Chinese), and built-in timecode for multi-camera sync are included.
