Clear MG is an open-back, over-ear headphone built around 40 mm magnesium dome drivers with an M-shaped profile. Magnesium is light and well damped, which the maker links to detailed, neutral and balanced reproduction and a wide soundstage. The inner grilles of the earcups follow the curve of the drivers. A honeycomb grille on the outside of the earcups keeps the sound open.
The headphones weigh 450 g. They use a solid aluminium yoke, a genuine leather headband covered in microfibre that keeps a constant curvature across head sizes, and microfibre earpads. The finish is a high-gloss Chestnut with Mixed-Metals accents. A new pair needs a running-in period of several hours of listening to reach full performance.
Two cables are supplied: a 1.2 m cable with a 3.5 mm jack and a 3 m cable with a 4-pin XLR connector, plus a 3.5 mm to 6.35 mm adapter. A woven carrying case in the headphone colours is included, and an optional stand is available separately.
