Apollo is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone built around a pressure-gradient transducer. Its cardioid pickup pattern isolates the sound source and helps reject feedback, which makes it usable as either a main or a support microphone across a range of recording situations. Vocals and acoustic instruments are the intended applications.
The capsule is shock-mounted to limit handling noise, and the body is a metal die-cast design described as ultra-rugged. The microphone is powered externally by 36-52 V phantom power, so it needs a mic preamp, mixer or interface that supplies phantom power.
A heavy-duty suspension mount and a wooden transport case are supplied with the microphone. An Apollo user manual is available for download from the product page.
