MKH 8090
The MKH 8090 is an RF condenser microphone with a wide cardioid pick-up pattern, aimed at use as a main microphone where less room impression is wanted, or as a support microphone for larger instrument groups. It is part of the MKH 8000 series.

The MKH 8090 is a radio-frequency (RF) condenser microphone with a wide cardioid pick-up pattern. It suits main-microphone placement when a drier, less spacious acoustic picture is wanted, and it can also be used as a support microphone for capturing larger groups of instruments. The RF principle gives very low self-noise, handling of high sound pressure levels without distortion, and good resistance to adverse climatic conditions.
The transducer is symmetrical, which keeps distortion very low. The output is transformerless and fully floating balanced, with a high output level. The housing is metal with a non-reflective Nextel coating. Frequency response runs from 30 Hz to 50 kHz, and the sound is timbrally matched to the other 8000-series microphones, so they can be mixed in one setup.
The microphone is powered by 48 V phantom power and connects through an XLR module (MZX 8000). With the MZD 8000 digital module it can be used as a digital microphone. A wide range of 8000-series accessories and spare parts is available.
