The SM63 is a high-output, low-impedance omnidirectional dynamic microphone. Its response runs from 80 to 20,000 Hz and is shaped for clear speech, with a controlled low-frequency roll-off that reduces pickup of stand and wind noise. A built-in pop filter reduces breath and wind noise, and a humbucking coil makes it very resistant to strong electromagnetic hum, such as that from studio lighting.
Handling noise is kept down by a patented internal shock mount system. The VERAFLEX grille is built to survive drops from up to 2 m, and the body is immune to rust, corrosion and moisture. The microphone is balanced for hand-held use. The SM63 series has three versions, which differ only in length and colour: the SM63, SM63L and SM63LB. The longer L models suit remote interviews, and an accessory windscreen for outdoor use in adverse wind is supplied with those two.
It connects through a standard low-impedance output and is supplied with a snap-in stand adapter, a swivel adapter and a carrying bag.
